After much fiddling, I was able to get the new piece in place, aligned and finally welded. Jamie Kenyon did the welding and he did a grreat job as you can see from these pictures. I purchased the parts from our local Asgar and Stuart at Weissach who got them Restoration Design.

This is a shot from beneath the right-front corner. You can see how good the new welds were. Nice burn through.

This is the front panel behind the valence. This took the most work to line up and fit.
